For business owners

What owners usually want to know first

Direct answers to the questions that come up most often, before anyone talks about a transaction.

What happens during the first conversation?

A short, informal discussion about your business, your objectives and your timing. There is no presentation, no document request and no commitment.

Do I need to be ready to sell?

No. Many owners speak with A3 years before any transaction, or simply to understand capital options and what investors and lenders are doing in their market.

Is my business information confidential?

Yes. Anything you share is treated as confidential and is not passed on without your explicit approval.

Will A3 disclose my company to investors, lenders or buyers?

Not without your permission. A3 can describe a business generically to test interest before any identity is revealed.

Can I speak with more than one advisor?

Yes. A3 is not tied to a single firm and can introduce you to more than one advisor so you can compare approaches.

Can I speak directly with a buyer?

Yes, where that is appropriate for your situation. A3 will also explain the trade-offs compared with a broader process.

What happens if the first match is not right?

A3 may evaluate other relevant relationships within the network, subject to applicable permissions and agreements.

Does A3 represent me?

No. A3 is a relationship, qualification and matching platform. It is not your financial, legal or tax advisor.

Does A3 provide valuations?

No. A3 does not prepare valuations. It can explain how buyers in your market have valued comparable businesses.

How is A3 compensated?

A3 may be compensated by a participating advisor or buyer when it facilitates a relationship or a successful transaction. The arrangement is disclosed before any introduction.

Is there any obligation?

None. You can end the conversation at any point, and you decide who, if anyone, you meet.

What kinds of companies does A3 work with?

Primarily founder- and family-owned businesses in services, manufacturing and distribution, generally with revenue between $3 million and $100 million.

Considering a strategic, capital or ownership decision?

Start with a confidential introductory conversation. There is no obligation, and nothing is shared without your permission.
