Frequently asked questions
Questions owners should ask before engaging with anyone
Does contacting A3 mean I am considering selling my business?
No. A3 works with business owners considering a range of strategic, capital and ownership decisions. A conversation may relate to financing, growth capital, a strategic relationship, succession, shareholder liquidity or, in some cases, a potential transaction.
Who does A3 represent?
A3 works with a network of advisors, investors, lenders and strategic partners and helps facilitate appropriate connections. The nature of A3's relationship and compensation is disclosed before any introduction.
Is A3 an M&A or capital-raising advisor?
No. A3 is a relationship, qualification and matching platform. It does not perform regulated advisory work and is not the owner's financial, legal, tax or investment advisor.
Will you share my information?
No confidential information is shared without the owner's authorization. A3 can describe a business generically to test relevance before any identity is revealed.
Why did you contact me?
Because the business appeared potentially relevant to a current mandate, a recent transaction, financing activity or a broader area of strategic interest within the network. It does not mean your business has been listed for sale.
Does it cost anything to speak with A3?
No. Owners pay nothing to speak with A3, to be introduced to an advisor, investor, lender or strategic partner, or to decline an introduction. Any fees an owner may later owe would be under a separate agreement with a firm they choose to engage.
How is A3 compensated?
A3 may be compensated by a participating advisor, investor, lender or buyer when it facilitates a relationship or a successful transaction. The specific arrangement relevant to your situation is disclosed before an introduction is made.
What happens if the first introduction is not a fit?
A3 may evaluate other relevant relationships within its network, subject to applicable permissions and agreements. There is no requirement to continue.
Can I explore financing without giving up control?
Yes. Debt, private credit, structured capital and minority investment are all routinely used by owners who intend to retain control of their business.
Considering a strategic, capital or ownership decision?
